Sabah and Aly chose to have a Calgary wedding in the summer of 2019. It was a busy time for both of them. Aly was starting his residency as a medical doctor. Sabah, a nurse, was transitioning from living in Calgary, to a major move in Edmonton for work (and to be closer to Aly).
To start their day, they chose to celebrate their cultural heritage with a traditional ceremony at the Ismaili Jamatkhana in Calgary. The bride wore a wore a beautiful sari in blush pink while her bridesmaids and Man Of Honour (her brother) wore a rich, royal blue. After sharing a lunch with friends and family at the Jamatkhana Centre, the couple changed into Western traditional wedding attire and shared a “First Look”.
The reception took place at Silver Springs Golf & Country Club. The outdoor patio space there was perfect for guests to mix and mingle while enjoying the August summer weather. Guests enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner followed by singing and dancing performances by various friends and family. Beautiful Indian culture traditions were also worked into the reception celebration to represent the joining of two families. Afterwards, guests continued to enjoy the outdoor patio space or filled the dance floor until the wee hours of the morning.
We want to thank all of the vendors involved in Sabah and Aly’s wedding day.
