Luisa was out for a walk in her neighbourhood when she first spotted him working in his front yard across the street. She was walking with both of parents, but Bryan noticed her, too. A few more “spontaneous” outings and they started talking. After that, it took a few gentle nudgings, and than an invitation or two to meet for coffee, and the rest, you might say, is history!
The bride chose a classic wedding color palette of blush pink and champagne gold mixed with shades of cream. The softer shades of pink gave the wedding a romantic and summery feel. The gold and the creams added a feel of timeless elegance.
Luisa’s family is a multi-generational Italian family who has made their home in Calgary for numerous decades. Choosing Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish, for the ceremony was a natural choice. It was where both Luisa and her brother were baptized, and had been their family church for ages. They chose to have their Calgary wedding reception at the historic and classic Crystal Ballroom at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel in downtown Calgary.
The groom chose a classic black tuxedo for him and groomsmen. The bride opted for a more traditional look, wearing a sleeveless white gown, with a lace illusion neckline. Her sparkly shoes in champagne gold matched her personality, and were customized with a message on the soles from her groom. She left her hair down in soft waves, covered with a sheer veil and crystle tiara. Her bouquet was a hand-tied nosegay, with a hydrangea base and filled with Juliet garden roses, Eskimo roses, Jana spray roses, and limited greenery by Fiori Con Amore, while her bridesmaids bouquets were more white to contrast nicely aginst their blush pink bridesmaids gowns.
In terms of decor, Luisa loves sparkle! We chose champange gold sequined linens for some tables, with the rest being in champagne gold with a sequined table runner. Crystal candelabras adorned with hydrangeas and blush roses alternated with lower arrangements in gold mercury glass pedestal vases. Gold Chiavari chairs were brought in and added to the decor of the room. Gold chargers plates wrapped in blush colored napkins with menu cards were at each place setting to complete a look of elegance at each table.
This wedding was all about family and friends. Traditions passed along from one generation to the next. Guests dined on an incredible 8-course Italian meal, prepared by the talented culinary team from the Palliser, before dancing the night away to music played by Pez Productions. A celebration to remember and enjoy, as Luisa and Bryan start this next chapter of their lives together.
