She’s from the East! He’s from the West! Although they both were originally from different areas of Canada, Jessica and Paul have since made Calgary their home. When deciding on the location of their wedding, they was no question in their minds as to where it was going to take place. They wanted to share the picturesque Canadian Rocky Mountains with all of their friends and family, and decided to make their wedding a mini-destination wedding in the small-town community of Banff, Alberta (locations inside Banff National Park.)
Right from the beginning, Jessica had a very specific look and feel that she wanted for her wedding. It can only be described as classic elegance! Timeless with a mix of tall candelabra centerpieces mixed with lower arrangements. A color palette of dark navy paired with creams and accents of gold. The neutral shades worked so well together, especially in their reception space at the Wildrose Ballroom in Banff’s Rimrock Resort.
While the beginning of September started to show the change in season, scattered showers did fall throughout the day. There was event a touch of snow in the evening to help complete the mountain magic!
From the couple:
“Paul and I met and currently reside in Calgary, but with Paul being from British Columbia and myself being from Ontario, it was hard to decide where to gather both sides of the family and friends to have a wedding. What better place than the heart of the Canadian Rockies in beautiful Banff National Park! Our ceremony was a classic Roman Catholic mass at the historic (over 100 years) St. Mary’s Parish Church in Banff. The cocktail hour and reception followed at the gorgeous ballroom at the Rimrock Resort and was decorated by the talented Cathy MacRae and her team from Creative Weddings Planning & Décor. Lush florals, by Muriel (Wedding Flowers With Love By Fiori Con Amore), filled the candelabra centerpieces which really made the room stand out. Along with the typical mountain weather – afternoon rain followed by evening snow – our wedding was everything we imagined and dreamed of. Surrounded with our family and friends, it really was the perfect euphoria-filled day that we will never forget.”

The ladies spent the morning getting ready at the Rimrock Resort. Hair and make-up was done in the rooms, making for a more relaxing morning for everyone. The bride’s gown was a lace covered sheath by Maggie Sottero, with gold sandals from Badgley Mischka.
The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Banff, Alberta. It’s a picturesque stone church with beautifully designed interiors. The price from their home church in Calgary came out to perform the ceremony.
A special thank you to all of the vendors involved in making Jessica and Paul’s day so perfect!
