Bespoke weddings are all the rage. Couples today want a wedding that is unique and completely their own. Unconventional, artistic, and with a hint of bohemian romance! This was our inspiration for our spring style shoot.
Cherry Creek Estate, located between Cranbrook and Kimberly, British Columbia, is a private estate. The estate home is ideal for wedding parties to stay on property with access to two barn venues - the Purcell Hall (formerly the Buggy Barn that can accommodate up to 80 guests) and the Rocky Mountain Barn (up to 300 guests). The master suite, with floor-to-ceiling windows is the perfect spot for a bride and her wedding party to get ready. It's a space for contemplation and anticipation, when she can look forward to the significance of the events about to take place.
Blush pink was the primary color, but contrasting shades of burgundy and green added to the palette. An inviting combination, ideal to announce the arrival of spring. Watercolor florals added a touch of whimsy to the invitation designed by Creative Weddings Stationery Designs, that is continued throughout the rest of the stationery.
European flower boxes are the all new gift for her. Whether its a birthday, anniversary, job promotion, or just because, its the perfect way to say "I love you". Fiori Con Amore designed this incredible flower box for our style shoot using an assortment of lush roses and garden roses. Absolutely breathtaking!
There are special moments that you can't redo. One of our favourites is writing a letter to one another, sharing all of the excitement and feelings you have about one another and the journey you are about to take together. Make sure to plan ahead for this and include it as part of your special day.
On a day as important as your wedding, it is important to look your absolute best. Choose to invest in a hair stylist and make-up artist who can look after you and give you the star treatment you deserve.
The bridal bouquet was based on blush tones. Lush Juliet garden roses are mixed with anemones, Quicksand roses, Veronica, Vendela roses, blush stock, and Italian ruscus greenery were used to create a loose, natural-looking bouquet by Creative Weddings Floral Designs.
The Blush by Hayley Paige bridal collection is characterized by a feel of whimsy and romance. "Ginger" is no exception. Unique lace, illusion sleeves and neckline, and soft, draping tulle creates a simple, but beautiful look. Novia Mia Bridal Boutique features this line of gowns.
Creative Weddings Floral Designs used greenery garlands, loose-flowing flowers and lanterns with pillar candles created a romantic centerpiece that led the eye down the length of the table (and to the floor). An overlay complete with 3-D flowers added just the right feel to the softer blush shades to create a garden-like feel (Bella Linens).
Lanterns added just the right touch to the table décor in Purcell Hall (formerly the Buggy Barn). Adding flowers and greens around the base of the lantern helped create a bohemian and romantic feel.
Simple flowers and sprigs of greenery were used to add to the overall romance on the place settings and on the corners of the table. More were added in and around the cake table, along with assorted candles and votives to add to the atmosphere and ambiance.
Naked wedding cakes continue to be all the rage! Contrast is critical whether you use fruit or flowers (or a combination of both). Alison from Whippt Desserts & Catering worked her magic to create this beautiful (and tasty) cake. Greenery was used to add to the wooden cake stand to help with the illusion of "bringing the outside in".
While using feast tables is a hot trend on Pinterest, running floral centerpieces down the center of the table can be a little on the pricy side. One option to consider is to use greenery to run the length of the table and place loose flowers randomly throughout. We love a fuller, more lush look, reminiscent of a hidden fairy forest, with candle votives utilized throughout along with the lanterns.
Bohemian bridal fashion is feminine and whimsical. In particular, we wanted to showcase some of the increasing popularity of two-pieced dress ideas with cropped tops and mix 'n match skirts. Novia Mia Bridal Boutique has a selection available, along with an in-house designer who will customize and bring your vision to life.
Thank you to the many vendors involved in this style shoot. It couldn't have been done without you!
